It may be Labor Day, but that doesnt mean that one can sit idly by while a handful of new worthy video games to play gets released this week.
The most popular pick for new releases this week will surely be Rayman Legends in the eyes of gamers, which comes out on 9/3 for the Wii U, Xbox 360, PS3, PC, and Vita. Rayman isnt the only multi-platform release though. Both the Xbox 360 and PS3 will be getting Diablo III this week, as well as Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate, which both come out on 9/3.

Tin Salamunic: I have to confess Ive never been a big Diablo fan. While I admire the series lore and depth, I could never deal with the tedious point-and click-gameplay mechanics for more than a few hours. Diablo II was my first and only experience with the franchise back in the day and I had no desire to come back for the third installment, particularly after all the controversial connection problems during its launch last year. So when Blizzard announced they were porting Diablo III to consoles, I wasnt exactly jumping up and down with joy. Then the unthinkable happened. After staring at my PS3 review copy with dire hesitation for a few hours, I popped the disc inand was jolted with bewilderment. Two hours passed, five hours passed, a day went by, and I was still playing. I dont say this lightly but I didnt think I would see the day when a console port of a legendary PC franchise would be the superior and definitive version.

Edge:Diablo III on PC was hellfire that burnt bright and brief. Players leapt into its dark, trashy fantasy world and were entranced by its whirligig spell effects, its popping, projectile-vomiting demons, its showers of gold and its Rare Axes of Wounding. Then, as quickly as they came, players seemed to leave the action-RPG behind, dropping unanswered questions in their wake like so much low-stat loot.

Gaming Union: "Regardless of how you look at the paragon system, the multiple classes, the questing or item leveling or what your personal feelings are on the quality of Blizzards content we can at least all sit down and agree that Diablo III was a short game. It certainly had a lot of great points that shouldnt be dismissed; visually the game was a treat and the gameplay was smooth as anyone could ask for. No one had a problem with the taste Diablo III had to offer, there just wasnt a quite enough of it on the plate."
